Our Lewiston dental center was expanded and updated in 2006, moving from Auburn to the south side of Main Street between Lisbon and Park Streets.
Community Dental Lewiston collaborates with our community partners, including Central Maine Medical Center, to help people get the dental care they need. Our community partners include Common Ties, Head Start and school oral health programs to provide a dental home for students who need services. United Way of Androscoggin County helps fund our limited reduced fee care to children and adults.
Community Dental also partners with the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and Maine Medical Center in an Advanced Education General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program.
Dr. Megan Kibbey, DMD
Dr. Megan Kibbey earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wheaton College. She went on to earn both a Ph.D. and dental degrees from the Medical University of South Carolina, where she received a National Institutes of Health grant for her research, lectured in several basic science courses and received the Oral Biology Award from the American Association of Oral Biologists upon graduation. Dr. Kibbey completed a General Practice Residency program at Tufts University in Boston, MA, and was then appointed as an Advanced General Dentistry Fellow and Faculty. Dr. Kibbey joined the Community Dental team in May 2016 as the Lewiston lead dentist, where she strives to provide positive patient-centered care. Passionate about teaching, she values the opportunity to partner with Tufts University to oversee residents who spend time in Lewiston. Dr. Kibbey enjoys learning new cultures as well as helping those in need, traveled to four different continents providing dental care to those in need. When not traveling, Dr. Kibbey enjoys exploring Maine, playing sports, spending time with family and working jigsaw puzzles.
With a population of 42,000, Lewiston is a former industrial center located in south central Maine, midway between the state's spectacular coastline and lush mountains. Lewiston is on the I-95 corridor, 45 minutes north of Portland and two hours north of Boston. Located across from Auburn, Lewiston and Auburn are often called the "Twin Cities," with a combined population of 60,000.
Lewiston is home to the prestigious Bates College, as well as the University of Southern Maine's Lewiston-Auburn location. Also, Lewiston is home to Central Maine Medical Center and St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
Numerous all-season recreational opportunities abound in the region, including Lost Valley Ski Resort in Auburn.
