Community Dental Portland moved from its Washington Avenue location to new facilities
on Brighton Avenue (Rt. 25) and expanded to eight operatories in 2003. It is located
approximately 2.5 miles east of the Maine Turnpike and 2 miles west of Interstate
295. The center occupies the first floor of its building.
Four licensed dentists staff the center with support staff including dental hygienists,
dental assistants and patient service representatives. Together, the staff provides
compassionate, quality oral health care services to the people of Greater Portland.
A full range of oral health care is provided at the Center, including restorations
(tooth fillings), crowns, full and partial dentures, oral surgery, periodontics,
endodontics, pedodontics and preventive care (teeth cleanings). Our patient population
is diverse and includes immigrant special needs, all age groups, HIV/AIDS patients,
and people with dental anxiety. Patients with dental emergencies can usually be
treated within 24 hours.
We accept most private insurance plans and MaineCare, and a sliding fee scale is
available for patients who meet the financial eligibility requirements. Care Credit
is also provided to eligible patients as a payment option and we accept all major
credit cards for payments.
The Portland Center partners with the City of Portland School Oral Health Program
and Headstart to provide restorative dental services and a dental home to students
identified as needing dental services. We provide care for patients living in local
group homes and participate in the Cumberland County Denture Project. We also receive
funding from the United Way of Greater Portland to provide patient assistance fund.
